Eileen Poplaski, longtime assistant principal for Trinity High School in Camp Hill, is stepping into a new roll for the coming school year. On June 27, Poplaski was announced as the next principal for the Catholic high school. Her appointment to this position by Bishop Timothy Senior is part of Trinity’s new President-Principal model. John Cominsky, former principal for the school, was named President in May.

This spring, Bishop Senior approved the new President-Principal governance model for Trinity High School. Through this model, the President serves as the CEO of the school, and the Principal as the COO. Poplaski will work in tandem with Cominsky, and she will supervise many of the day-to-day operations of the school, including academics, the House System, and school clubs and activities, among other duties.

“Eileen is already well known and respected in the community. I’m happy that she will have an even bigger impact in this new role as principal,” said Daniel Breen, Superintendent of Catholic Schools and Secretary of Education for the Diocese of Harrisburg.

Trinity joins Our Lady of Lourdes Regional School, Lancaster Catholic, and York Catholic Middle & High School in operating under the President-Principal model. This model is frequently used in Catholic secondary education, with an estimated 60% of Catholic high schools in the United States using this method, according to the National Catholic Education Association.

Poplaski has served Trinity as Vice Principal/Director of Studies since 2005, while also teaching in the Social Studies Department. She came to Trinity after teaching at Bishop McDevitt High School from 1992-2005, where she also served as the Department Chair for Social Studies. Poplaski holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland (College Park) and a Master of Arts in History from Shippensburg University. She completed her Pennsylvania Administrative Certification through Marywood University. Poplaski began her new role as Principal on July 1.
