We are pleased to work with parishes, schools, Catholic organizations and ministries within the Diocese of Harrisburg to share their news and promote their events through our website, www.catholicwitness.org, and our bi-weekly digital edition distributed via e-mail. Please refer to these guidelines for your submissions, to help ensure they meet deadlines and policies for publication.
Guidelines for Submission and Items for Publication:
The deadline for submitted announcements is every other Wednesday at 4:30 p.m., unless otherwise noted on the publication schedule below. Parish Obituaries and event announcements for the Notebook listing will be updated and posted bi-weekly to The Witness’ website and in the digital edition. All other submissions – including reader-submitted news of past events, photos and commentaries – will be considered for future use at the discretion of Witness staff.
Events for the Notebook Section: Submit typed announcements via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. No ads, flyers or PDFs, please. The Catholic Witness promotes only those events that are hosted or sponsored by a Diocesan parish, school, office or ministry.
Parish Obituaries: Parishes are encouraged to submit names of their deceased parishioners to email@example.com.
Photos, Articles and Commentaries: Accepted and published on occasion, but not guaranteed for publication. Submitted pieces, if selected for publication, are subject to editing, maximum word count of 1,000. Photos must be quality images with a minimum 300 dpi resolution and include a caption or description. Photos, articles and commentaries can be submitted for consideration to firstname.lastname@example.org.
