Religious Sisters in the Diocese of Harrisburg marking milestone anniversaries this year were recognized and honored during the annual Sisters’ Jubilee celebration. The celebration was hosted by the Diocesan Secretariat for Clergy and Consecrated Life on May 7 at the Diocesan Conference Center in Harrisburg.
The event congratulated the Sisters for their ministry and service in their various ministries and religious congregations. The day began with a Mass celebrated by Bishop Ronald Gainer, and included photos with the bishop, and a luncheon for the jubilarians and the members of their congregations who were present for the celebration.
“We do not just celebrate the years you have served, but the fidelity to your service,” Bishop Gainer told the jubilarians as he thanked them for their faithfulness.
“We gather here with great humility,” the bishop said in his homily. “[Christ] did not just want to be with us and among us, but in us also. Let us give thanks for that Truth.”
