Sacred Heart of Jesus Statue Blessed at Holy Name of Jesus Parish

Gracing the front of the church and school at Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Harrisburg prominently stands a striking bronze statue of the likeness of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Father Edward Quinlan, pastor of Holy Name, surrounded by the school’s large student body, blessed the new statue on a breezy and quite cool February 10 after celebrating Holy Mass.

The statue was generously donated by a parishioner after consultation with Father Quinlan. It was agreed and decided upon to purchase this slightly larger-than-life-sized art, which sits upon a pedestal on the church’s front lawn, easily seen from the school’s entrance.

“With outstretched arms, He welcomes us, a truly fitting way to greet those who approach our Church. His Sacred Heart, which is the source of all grace, invites us to enter in and find holiness of life,” Father Quinlan said after the blessing.
