Procession Brings Christ to Streets of Greencastle

Members of St. Mark the Evangelist Parish in Greencastle took their faith to the streets with a Eucharistic procession on Corpus Christi Sunday, June 2, bearing witness to the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist.

The mid-afternoon procession included hymns and prayers as the faithful processed around the block of their Franklin-county parish, stopping for periods of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament along the route and in the church.

Father Augusty Valomchalil, pastor of St. Mark’s and of St. Luke the Evangelist Mission in Mercersburg, joined Deacon Dan Signore in carrying the Blessed Sacrament in monstrance as altar servers assisted in the procession, with the choir leading participants in song.
