Three weeks before Christmas, Knights of Columbus Council 10685 of Good Shepherd Parish in Camp Hill presented a generous donation of 120 brand new winter coats for children and teens served by various Catholic Charities programs in the Diocese.
Carrying more than a dozen boxes filled with coats, the Knights presented the donation at the Diocesan Center in Harrisburg on December 4. Council 10685 purchased the coats with $2,000 from a parish-wide spaghetti dinner, and a $1,300 contribution from the council, which was matched by the State Council.
Christopher Meehan, Catholic Charities’ Director of Development, said the coats will be distributed to children and teens at the Interfaith Shelter for Homeless Families in Harrisburg, the adoption and foster care program, the Lancaster Day Treatment program, and York Intensive Family Services.
