Representatives of Knights of Columbus Council 1426 of Corpus Christi Parish in Chambersburg made a sizable monetary donation to Lourdeshouse Maternity Home in Harrisburg on June 24, presenting a check for $6,000 to help benefit the women and babies who reside at the home, operated by Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Harrisburg.
Council 1426 made the donation from monies raised through its Baby Bottle Campaign, which encourages benefactors to fill baby bottles with cash and coins to help support mothers and infants in need.
At Lourdeshouse, pregnant women, mothers and babies receive love, care and support as the women work to gain self-sufficiency with medical care, employment and housing. Two new babies were born this week.
