Holy Family School in Berwick Celebrates Community during Catholic Schools Week

Holy Family students gather for a photo at P-Nut Bowl during a Catholic Schools Week event.

Catholic Schools Week was filled with excitement at Holy Family School in Berwick, as community support for the Columbia County school added to the week of special liturgies, visitors and activities for the students.
The first-grade class was surprised with boxes of school supplies from J.B. Hunt Transportation. The trucking company donated $1,000 worth of items through its national “Adopt a Class” program. Christopher Domanski, the parent of a first-grader at Holy Family, nominated the class to receive the supplies.
With the delivery, students found Lego sets, colored pencils, folders and games. They also climbed into the delivery truck to have a seat behind the wheel.
Also during Catholic Schools Week, Holy Family School announced a scholarship donation from Heller’s Gas through the Diocese’s Neumann Scholarship program. The program provides tuition assistance through the state’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit program. The donation will provide scholarship assistance for qualifying families who send their children to Holy Family.
Celebrations continued throughout the week at the school, as students enjoyed interactions with clergy and religious in celebrating vocations. The students were also treated to a field trip to nearby P-Nut Bowl in Bloomsburg, where all grades enjoyed a few rounds of rolling for strikes while wearing their favorite team jerseys.
