The Harrisburg Guild of the Catholic Medical Association will host the annual White Mass at the Cathedral of St. Patrick, Harrisburg, on Sunday, October 31 at 9:30 a.m. Bishop Ronald Gainer will be the celebrant. In these challenging times, now more than ever, Our Lord seeks to refresh and sustain those serving others in illness and suffering. The White Mass provides an opportunity to gather in solidarity and fellowship. Physicians will recite their oath of care at that time. Attendees are welcome to wear their white coats and uniforms. A reception will follow the Mass so that healthcare professionals may meet and learn more about the Guild. While the guild is physician led, all medical professionals and their families are welcome.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Mount Carmel will honor COVID-19 front line workers, those who have died from COVID and all Veterans at the 11 a.m. Mass on Sunday, Nov. 7. The parish is also collecting photos, brief stories and personal reflections about lost loved ones and experiences during the pandemic for a time capsule. Articles for a time capsule can be placed in a basket in front of the altar. All are encouraged to submit their stories. Stories should be submitted prior to Nov. 7.
St. Katharine Drexel Parish Council of Catholic Women invites you to a Service of Remembrance of Deceased Loved Ones on Sunday, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. You are invited to bring a picture of your loved one to be placed by the altar. The Prayer Service will be held in the church at 1 Peter Drive, Mechanicsburg.
Education & Enrichment
The Order of Malta runs a Pen Pal Program for those in prison and is seeking volunteers to write to inmates. The effort takes a few minutes and a stamp every month. The program is anonymous and presents volunteers with a way to be true to our call to visit Christ in prison. To express interest, please reach out to Maltapenpalprogram@gmail.com. A Beginning Experience Weekend for those suffering the loss of a spouse through death, divorce or separation will be hosted by the Diocesan Beginning Experience Team at Camp Kirchenwald, Lebanon, Pa., Nov. 12-14, 2021. The ecumenical Beginning Experience weekends are an approved program of the Church. Hundreds of persons have been helped to move towards successful, productive, happy lives by attending one of these weekends. The weekend is led by persons who have lost a spouse through death or divorce and are trained in facilitating a weekend. Each Beginning Experience Team is certified by the International Beginning Experience Organization. Beginning Experience is a ministry of the Diocesan Office of Catholic Life and Evangelization. Knights of Columbus Council 1426 in Chambersburg will host a Trunk or Treat on Oct. 31 at 336 E. Garfield St., Chambersburg from 1-3 p.m., or until the candy runs out. Event is for children under the age of 16. We ask that children be dressed in costume. Parents, guardians or grandparents will drive into the main parking lot entrance from Garfield Street, follow the cones to the side door, then exit onto Blanchard Ave. The Knights will hand bags of candy through the window of your vehicle. No need to get out of your vehicle for this event.

Recital featuring Dr. David O’Donnell, tenor, Christyan Seay, tenor, Matthew A.
