St. Joseph Parish, Hanover, is hosting a pilgrimage to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Washington D.C., for the Dominican Rosary Pilgrimage on September 26, 2026. The pilgrimage focus will be the Rosary, Adoration and Mass. The Pilgrimage Prayer will be available in January 2026, beginning a novena on the last Saturday of each month. Prison chaplains, volunteers and those interested in prison ministry are invited to a Day of Reflection at the Diocesan Center in Harrisburg on Saturday, June 13, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. We invite anyone that may be considering volunteering in the prison ministry to learn more about this unique and fulfilling role in the life of the Church. The Diocesan Office of Life and Dignity will host an end-of-life seminar on Saturday, July 25, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., at the Diocesan Center in Harrisburg. Dr. Joseph Meaney, PhD, KM, past president and senior ethicist of the National Catholic Bioethics Center, will share informative guidance to support our understanding and preparation for end-of-life issues. Paul Schemel, Esq., DDS Law, will offer a practical discussion of how Theology of the Body can inform our approach to medical powers-of-attorney, advance directives and POLST (Physician Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment) documents, and how our will can be a means of both evangelizing our Catholic faith and maintaining peace among the family who survive us. The Women of Grace Foundational Study Program will begin at St. Matthew Parish in Dauphin on Wednesdays from September 16-November 11, with morning sessions from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and evening sessions from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Both sessions will be held at the parish center. Catholic Charities will host the 24th annual Interfaith Shelter Golf Classic, Monday, June 22, at Dauphin Highlands Golf Club. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Interfaith Shelter for Homeless Families, a residential program that supports homeless families during times of crisis. Registration for campers and volunteers at the Diocesan Camp for Adults with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities is available for the August 9-14 camp at Camp Kirchenwald in Lebanon County. The cost of $700 per camper for the week includes all meals, housing, activities, entertainment, and nursing staff. Campers enjoy five nights in cabins or “daks” – three-sided bunk houses in the woods. St. Joseph Parish in Hanover is seeking a full-time music director for our music ministry. This position requires a self-starter who is motivated, organized and has a passion for enhancing our liturgical celebrations with music. This position includes, but is not limited to planning, practicing and executing the music necessary to support the Sunday liturgies; practicing at least once a week with both Adult Choirs and Youth Choirs; and cataloging and organizing the music library. This position trains and works with cantors and accompanists in order to plan the liturgies for the year, works in coordination with the school Music teacher to help school liturgies and parish liturgies work synergically when necessary, and plans and sets up the sets for musicians and cantors two months prior to the liturgies. This position requires a person who has a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, is bilingual (Spanish and English), has a knowledge of Catholic liturgies, the faith and culture. Applicant must be in good standing with the Catholic Church and able to play organ, piano, or guitar in a way which would allow them to step in if an accompanist is not available. This individual would be available for the major feast days of the year, Christmas, Holy Week, Easter, and the sacramental celebrations. This is a full-time position with the option for benefits. Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament and the Vietnamese Martyrs Parish, Harrisburg, is seeking a director for its food pantry. This mission has served hundreds of families over many decades and is still a vital resource to hundreds of children and families in the area. The volunteer year-round director will oversee operations each Tuesday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., complete monthly reports, and place food orders with the Central PA Food Bank.
