A Tear Drops Service for those whose loved ones no longer practice the faith will be held at St. Katharine Drexel Church in Mechanicsburg on August 23 at 2 p.m. We will gather and pray together in petition that those we love come back to Jesus and His Holy Catholic Church. A retreat day for deaf Catholics, “God Wants to be Your Best Friend” will be offered at St. Joseph Parish in Mechanicsburg on Saturday, October 24. Father Michael Depcik, a deaf priest, will offer the retreat in American Sign Language. Voice interpretation will not be provided. The retreat begins at 9 a.m. with a continental breakfast and includes two presentations, lunch, Confession and a closing Mass at 4 p.m. Cost is $15 per person. The annual Pilgrimage to the National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes in Emmitsburg, Md., will take place on Thursday, August 6, the Feast of the Transfiguration. The Diocese of Harrisburg will host the third annual Hispanic Catholic Conference, “Walking in our Faith,” on Saturday, August 29, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., at the Diocesan Center in Harrisburg. York Catholic is hosting a Futures Marching Band Camp on Saturday, September 5, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. for any fourth, fifth or sixth grade student who has played a band instrument for at least a year or who would be interested in color guard.
