The Black Catholic Apostolate’s Annual Cultural Mass will be celebrated on Sunday, February 1, at 12:15 p.m. at St. Patrick Cathedral, Harrisburg. Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Timothy C. Senior, and the homilist will be Father Chiedozie Ononuju, parochial vicar of St. Patrick Parish, Carlisle. St. Anne and Our of Lady La Vang Parish, Lancaster, will have a Healing Service celebrating our Lady of Lourdes on Sunday, February 8, at 3 p.m. in the church. Hear from 16-year-old Mira Fritz, who journeyed with the Order of Malta in 2023 on their pilgrimage to Lourdes and served as a page providing water to the large crowds and assisting at the various liturgies. Inspiration from her grandfather’s (Clair McCormick) deep faith and devotion planted the seeds for her faith journey. Hear how she answered Mary’s call to Lourdes and how she lives her faith counter culturally in a world where God and faith are often dismissed. The Healing Service also includes an opportunity for all to come forward and wash in Lourdes water as our Blessed Mother requested in one of her apparitions to St. Bernadette. A Mass in American Sign Language without voice interpretation will be celebrated on Sunday, February 15, at 4 p.m. at St. Joseph Church, Mechanicsburg. No voice interpretation will occur. The celebrant and homilist will be Father Mike Depcik, OSFS, Chaplain for the Deaf Ministry for the Archdiocese of Baltimore. The Italian Mass for the Feast of St. Joseph will be celebrated on Sunday, March 22, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joan of Arc Church, Hershey. Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, McSherrystown is hosting a special Parish Marian Mission, February 9-11, culminating in a Eucharistic Healing Prayer Service on Wednesday. The Harrisburg Peace Pilgrimage to offer a united response to the forces of conflict and violence will take place February 4 at 3 p.m. Participants will meet at Market Square Presbyterian Church at 20 South Second Street, Harrisburg. A Beginning Experience Weekend for those suffering the loss of a spouse through death, divorce or separation will take place May 1-3 at Camp Kirchenwald, Lebanon. The Columbia Catholic Mental Health Ministry will have a workshop on how to create a self-centering box, Wednesday, February 11, at 7 p.m. in the social hall at St. Peter Parish, Columbia. Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Mount Carmel, has joined the global Catholic Grandparents Association. The group’s first meeting is Friday, February 20, at 2 p.m. in the school building. The goal of this worldwide association is to help connect grandparents both nationally and internationally in helping, supporting and valuing each other in this great task of passing on the faith to their grandchildren.
