Masses & Prayer Services An ecumenical, interreligious candlelight remembrance service for anyone who has experienced the death of a friend, family member or loved one to suicide will take place Sunday, Dec. 12 at 6 p.m. at Sacred Heart Basilica in Conewago. For more information, please contact Sue Poist at 717-624-2055 or smpoist@hotmail.com. All are welcome, no matter when the suicide occurred. This service is a time for us all to come together to let you know you are not alone.

Masses & Prayer Services A first class relic of the beloved St. Anthony of Padua will be part of the Forty Hour Devotions at Mother Cabrini Church in Shamokin on Nov. 14, 15 and 16. Father Richard Jacob Forcier, OFM Conv., will be the guest homilist for these three evenings. Father Forcier currently serves as the Director of the Shrine of St. Anthony in Ellicott City, Md., and also serves in the position of Province Secretary.

Active and retired police officers, firefighters, EMTs, nurses and doctors will be honored at the Mass.

Masses & Prayer Services A 30th anniversary Mass for Sister Mary Catherine Rose Giacobbe, the first hermit Sister in the Diocese, will be celebrated Aug. 14 at 9 a.m. at St. Lawrence Chapel in Harrisburg. Bishop Ronald Gainer will be celebrant for the Pontifical High Mass, and Sister will renew her vows. All are welcome to attend the Mass, and to send prayer requests to Sister at www.flowerofcarmelhermitage.org.

Diocesan Notebook – July 8

Masses & Prayer Services The Sisters of Saints Cyril and Methodius will have a special Memorial Mass for the SSCM Sisters who died during the pandemic. The Mass will be celebrated July 10 at 2 p.m. in the Basilica of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Danville by Bishop William Waltersheid, Auxiliary Bishop of Pittsburgh.
