Diocesan Notebook – May 13

A Mass of Thanksgiving to God for all newly initiated and newly received will take place May 22 at 4 p.m. at St. Patrick Cathedral in Harrisburg. Parishes are asked to register and send their parishioners who were initiated and/or received during the past two years, along with sponsors, to participate in this inaugural event. Registration can be found at https://www.hbgdiocese.org/event/mass-of-thanksgiving/. Please register by May 15, 2022.

Masses & Prayer Services Join the Harrisburg Diocesan Council of Catholic Women in a virtual Rosary every Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. extend an invitation for all to join us as we come together to pray the Rosary over Zoom and by phone. For more information on log-in details and to be added to the group e-mail list, please e-mail cwexecutivesecretary@gmail.com and visit https://hdccw.webs.com. If you are unable to join via Zoom or phone, join spiritually by praying the Rosary at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Saint Joan of Arc Church, Hershey, will host a quarterly Sensory-Friendly Mass for persons with sensory sensitivity or other disabilities. Dimmer lighting, no music, and a shorter homily, among other adaptations, are included in this Mass to promote a fully inclusive environment.

Diocesan Notebook – February 3

His Eminence, Wilton Cardinal D. Gregory, Archbishop of Washington, will serve as principal celebrant of the Diocese of Harrisburg’s annual Black Catholic Apostolate Mass.  The Mass will be celebrated February 13 at noon at St. Catherine Labouré Church, 4000 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA.  All are invited to attend.

Diocesan Notebook – January 20

The Harrisburg Guild of the Catholic Medical Association invites all to a Holy Hour of Prayer for the Sick and those who care for them. The Holy Hour will be on Sunday, February 13 immediately following the 11 a.m. Mass at St. Joseph Parish in Danville.

The deadline for submissions to the biweekly Notebook/Parish Obituaries listing is every other Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. Please refer to the Publication Schedule for edition dates and deadlines.
