Bishop Edward Malesic, Bishop of the Diocese of Cleveland, returned to his native Diocese of Harrisburg for a special dedication on July 4 at Holy Infant Church in Manchester, where he formerly served as pastor. Celebrating Mass at Holy Infant, Bishop Malesic dedicated the church’s newly-installed windows that depict significant events in Jesus’ early life.
The windows were installed in April in the York County church, which was dedicated in June of 2016. The medallions in the center of the windows were incorporated from the parish’s 1949 church. As pastor, Bishop Malesic worked with the parish’s design committee to design the windows as the parish planned for the construction of the new church.
The images include depictions of the birth of Jesus; the visit of the shepherds and the wise men to the Infant Jesus; the presentation in the temple; the flight to Egypt; and the finding of Jesus in the temple.
