Ball Drop a Hole-in-One for Charities

In conjunction with its annual golf tournament to raise money for the Interfaith Shelter for Homeless Families, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Harrisburg added to the competition with a golf ball drop for a $1,000 cash prize during the June 22 outing at Dauphin Highlands Golf Club.

Purchased at $25 each, 123 numbered balls were dropped on a section of the course, with Bishop Timothy Senior selecting one ball at random. The winning ball, number 73, was purchased by Clark Tomlinson, who donated his $1,000 winning prize to Catholic Charities.

An organization that provides an array of programs for individuals and families, Catholic Charities’ programs include adoption and foster care, counseling services, and residential programs that assist homeless families, pregnant women and their babies, and women in recovery from addiction.
