Back-to-School: A Gallery of Photos

The third week of August signaled the first day of class for many Catholic school students in the Diocese, and students from PreK through 12th grade received an enthusiastic welcome from teachers, principals and staff as they kicked off the start of a new academic year.

The Catholic Witness made stops at four schools in the Diocese during the first week of classes: St. John the Baptist School in New Freedom, St. Joseph School in Hanover, St. Columba School in Bloomsburg and Our Lady of Lourdes Regional School in Coal Township. Principals Michelle Williams, Melissa Connahey, Mary Lenzini Howe and Sister Mary Catherine Chapman, IHM, and their teachers and staff extended a warm welcome as we captured a glimpse of first-day arrivals, morning prayer and classroom sessions.

Celebrate our Catholic schools and learn more about all they have to offer by visiting www.GoCatholicSchools.org.
