A lay religious apostolate known for their evangelization efforts in Puerto Rico, the Hermanos Cheos brought their dynamic presentations to the Diocese’s second annual Hispanic Catholic Conference on September 6 for a day of praise and worship, presentations and reflections for Spanish-speaking Catholics.
Offered entirely in Spanish, “Walking in our Faith” included sessions by members of the Hermanos Cheos on Mary as a model of hope, and on trust in God and on returning to Jesus. Lively praise and worship sessions sparked attendees into song, and St. Francis of Assisi parishioner Karen Rodriguez presented her song, “Regálame Un Minuto,” which was a finalist for this year’s Catholic Music Awards at the Vatican.
The conference culminated with Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and the celebration of Mass by Bishop Timothy Senior, who spoke in his homily about the USCCB’s call for comprehensive immigration reform.
