Several hundred Catholics joined an annual tradition in the heart of downtown Lancaster on Saturday morning, June 13, for a Eucharistic Procession organized by the Padre Pio Prayer Group with the support of several area parishes and priests.
Forming after the celebration of Mass at St. Joseph Church and escorted by police vehicles, the procession route included stops in front of Historic St. Mary’s Church and the Lancaster County Courthouse for veneration of the Holy Eucharist and concluded with Benediction at San Juan Bautista Church.
Throughout the duration of the 1.5-mile procession, participants prayed the Rosary and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and sang songs of adoration as Father Pang Tcheou, Father Brian Olkowski and Father Deogratias Rwegasira took turns carrying the Blessed Sacrament in a monstrance. At San Juan, Father Luis Rodriguez led Benediction for the congregation before the Eucharist was reposed.
